What
a Dream Includes
Dreams are as unique and as wonderful as the children themselves.
We try our hardest to say "yes" to every eligible
child.
Types of Dreams:
1. Travel Dreams...
Air fare:
Our dream children and their immediate families (including parents, guardians, and siblings) are provided with round trip air fare.
Accommodations:
Every effort is made to find the best and most suitable hotel accommodations, featuring all of the services and amenities that our dream families require.
If the child's dream includes Disney World, accommodations are
provided at Give
Kids the World Village.
Rental vehicle:
A rental vehicle (full-size car, mini van or
full-size van, depending on size of family) is provided for the duration of the trip, including auto insurance for the rental period.
Medical Insurance:
We provide each of our dream families with medical insurance for the dream child,
as well as covering the rest of the family for medical emergencies.
Spending Money/Cash Allowance:
Our dream families are provided with a cheque or money order (in U.S. or Canadian funds, depending
on destination) to cover expenses, such as meals, gas, parking, souvenirs. The amount each family is given is determined by the destination, and the size of the dream family.
Emergency Assistance:
Should any of our dream families encounter any problems during their trip, a Rainbow Society staff member is on-call 24 hours a day.
Additional Services:
We also make arrangements for any medical equipment required,
such as oxygen, wheelchairs, etc.
2. Non-travel Dreams…
Dreams are limited only to the child's imagination, so for dreams that do not involve travel, The Rainbow
Society will provide (within reason), a total themed package relating to the child's dream.
For example:
- A home theatre package may include a television, DVD player, a CD player, speakers, an electronic game system, games, movies
and CD's.
- A computer dream may include a hard drive, printer, keyboard,
mouse, speakers, desk, chair, digital camera, games and software.
- If the dream request exceeds our expense limit, or if it is considered dangerous or inappropriate for the child, The Rainbow Society reserves the right to decline the dream
request. Motorized vehicles,
such as cars, motorcycles (on and off-road), all terrain vehicles,
personal water craft, snowmobiles, trampolines and any other device, which
may be determined as a threat to the welfare of the child, will
not be provided.
3. Celebrity Dreams…
Celebrity dream details are determined entirely by the celebrity and their publicity agent, not by The Rainbow Society, or the dream family. The celebrity dream may involve travel to a location where the celebrity
will be at the scheduled time of the meeting, and may only include a short meeting, attendance at a performance, or a care package from the celebrity.
